A2 Data Center Building of CEEC Qingyang Big Data Center Industrial Park Enters Operation

On May 29, the A2 Data Center Building of the Gansu Qingyang East-Data-West-Computing Power Integrated Smart Zero-Carbon Big Data Industrial Park was officially put into operation. The project is developed under the investment-construction-operation integrated model by CPECC under CEEC, with GEDI serving as the EPC contractor.

The CEEC Qingyang Big Data Center Industrial Park is among the largest and best-planned under-construction big data center projects in the Qingyang cluster of the East-Data-West-Computing Initiative. Designed and constructed to meet the highest national standards, the Center has a planned capacity of around 7,000 high-power racks (12-140 kW), with a total designed IT power of over 60,000 kW. By adopting a variety of cutting-edge green and low-carbon technologies, it maintains a power usage effectiveness (PUE) below 1.2, an industry-leading level. GEDI participates in the entire digital new infrastructure business process, from early-stage incubation to project implementation, and is responsible for the EPC general contracting of the data center infrastructure, covering the construction of all four data center buildings and the 110kV CEEC No.1 Substation.

As the first east-data-west-computing project receiving support from national policy-backed and development-oriented financial instruments, the Qingyang Big Data Center Industrial Park is the first ultra-large-scale, high-power commercial intelligent computing center adopting full indirect evaporative cooling in the Qingyang National Data Center Cluster. It is named among the first batch of "Excellent Application Cases of the National Integrated Computing Power Network" by the National Data Bureau. In 2024, the Project A1 Data Center Building was put into operation and awarded Class A certification, the highest national standard for such facilities. Boasting high-quality machine room conditions, stable operation and maintenance (O&M) capabilities, and ultra-low energy consumption, the facility now has a rack utilization rate of over 99%, winning high recognition from the market.

Once put into operation, the A2 Data Center Building will be able to support approximately 40,000 petaflops of computing power. To meet the growing demand for computing capacity expansion amid booming intelligent computing services, the project team has carried out comprehensive and systematic upgrades to the A2 Data Center Building. The facility now features higher power density, stricter green and low-carbon standards, and more efficient intelligent O&M. Focusing on clients' high-standard and personalized requirements, GEDI has continuously optimized process solutions to improve the power supply and heat dissipation flexibility of racks and supporting facilities, enabling the power density of individual racks to be flexibly adjusted within a specified range. Meanwhile, through standardized, refined equipment procurement control, GEDI has struck a balance between high-quality construction and cost control.
