On April 15, the Jieyang Rongcheng District Pengxin 200MW/400MWh Independent Energy Storage Station Project, built under an EPC contract led by GEDI, was successfully connected to the grid.
The project comprises a 200MW/400MWh electrochemical energy storage station and a supporting 220kV energy storage step-up substation. It adopts internationally advanced cascaded high-voltage direct connection energy storage technology combined with full-liquid cooling for both battery cells and the PCS, delivering industry leading charge-discharge cycle efficiency. The project is also equipped with an integrated big data management and monitoring platform, which enables refined lifecycle management, real-time monitoring, and intelligent control of the entire energy storage system, providing a robust technical foundation for its efficient, safe, and stable operation.
After commissioning, the project will take an active role in providing ancillary services to the Guangdong grid, effectively improving power supply reliability in the Jieyang area, mitigating peak-to-valley load swings, and enhancing grid regulation capability. It will significantly advance regional renewable energy integration, help address the intermittency and variability of renewable generation.
