Gansu Qingyang East-Data-West-Computing Project Industrial Park Green Electricity Aggregation Pilot Project Section II Connected to Grid

Recently, the first batch of photovoltaic (PV) units in the 365MW Gansu Qingyang East-Data-West-Computing Project Industrial Park Green Electricity Aggregation Pilot Project Section II, built under an EPC contract by GEDI, was successfully connected to the grid.

This project is China's first pilot for aggregated green electricity direct supply to data centers. It is invested by GEPIC Qingyang New Energy Development Co., Ltd., with an initial total installed capacity of 1000MW. This 365 MW Section II Project comprises 250MW of wind power and 115MW of PV, and includes the construction of over 138 kilometers of collector lines and supporting access roads. Once operational, it will supply 705 million kilowatt-hours of green electricity annually to the Qingyang Data Center Cluster, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 564,000 tons.

When fully completed, the project will enable precise matching and system-level aggregation between computing demand and green power, allowing data centers to run on essentially carbon-free power and significantly lowering overall electricity costs, and strongly supporting the computing industry's green, low-carbon, and sustainable development. It will also effectively address the local consumption of wind and solar resources, drive the development of the "Data Center – New Energy – Equipment Manufacturing – Intelligent O&M" industrial chain, and provide a replicable solution for nationwide direct green electricity supply to data centers.
