Xuwen Independent Shared Energy Storage Power Station Project Connected to the Grid

On March 14, the 200MW/400MWh Independent Shared Energy Storage Power Station Project in Xuwen, Zhanjiang was connected to the grid. This "new-type energy hub" connects to a large-scale offshore wind power grid connection point, integrates functions such as emergency response, black start, ancillary services, peak shaving, and frequency regulation, and will help enhance large-scale renewable energy integration and grid regulation capabilities in western Guangdong.

The project is located in Xuwen County, Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, where the stable transmission of high-penetration green power necessitates the support of energy storage as a regulating resource. The project can simultaneously support renewable energy integration, grid peak shaving and frequency regulation, and emergency power supply. Leveraging its comprehensive strengths in energy and power planning consulting and multidisciplinary integration, GEDI has customized a set of high-performance energy storage equipment suited to the local grid characteristics and development needs of Xuwen, and provides solid support for the project throughout its entire lifecycle, including investment, construction, and operation.

Once operational, the project will increase the annual green power supply by 240 million kWh, equivalent to saving over 70,000 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 200,000 tons-a carbon sequestration benefit comparable to planting 1.11 million trees. The project will also align with local development to drive regional industrial upgrading, livelihood improvement, and ecological conservation, injecting sustained momentum into expanding and refining the local green energy industry chain.
