First Unit of Huaneng Pengzhou Gas Turbine Project Commences Operation

On March 12, the first unit of the Huaneng Pengzhou Gas Turbine Project, surveyed and designed by GEDI, completed a 168-hour full-load trial run and officially commenced commercial operation.

Located in Pengzhou, Chengdu, this project involves the construction of two upgraded 9F-class gas turbine-steam combined cycle units, with flue gas denitrification systems built concurrently. Upon full completion, the project is expected to achieve an annual power generation of approximately 2.33 billion kWh. This will further satisfy Chengdu's growing demand for electricity, optimize the regional power supply structure, strengthen the peaking capacity and supply reliability of the Sichuan power grid during peak and off-peak periods, and promote the healthy development of the regional low-carbon economy.
