Recently, the 500kV Haizhu Transmission and Transformation Project, surveyed and designed by GEDI-officially commenced construction. This is the first 500 kV substation in the central urban area of Guangzhou.
The project involves the construction of a 500 kV Haizhu Substation in the Pazhou south area, with four circuits of 500 kV transmission lines separately linking Guangnan Station and Chuting Station. The substation will be equipped with corresponding reactive power compensation facilities. The project will introduce an innovative "fully indoor layout and all-cable transmission" design to create an environmentally friendly, next-generation substation that matches the urban quality of Guangzhou. Additionally, a range of innovative solutions will be implemented to comprehensively enhance technological advancement and system reliability. This project aims to create a digital, high-capacity, green and low-carbon urban power transmission and transformation project that fully aligns with the high-quality development needs of Guangzhou.
Upon completion, the project will prioritize meeting the electricity demands of core development platforms such as the Pazhou Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy Pilot Zone and the Guangzhou International Financial City. It will provide robust support for high-load power supply in central Guangzhou, significantly enhance the reliability and flexibility of power grid operations, and strongly drive the development of modern industrial clusters, including the digital economy and financial technology.
