Huizhou Boluo Gas-fired Cogeneration Project Completed and Commissioned

On July 20, the Guangdong Datang Huizhou Boluo Gas-fired Cogeneration Project, led by GEDI as the EPC contractor, was fully completed and put into production, helping the high-quality green development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The project involves two 460MW gas-steam combined cycle cogeneration units, which can generate about 3.46 billion kWh of electricity annually, provide about 6.12 million GJ of heat annually, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 1.7351 million tons annually. This project will further support the economic and social development needs of Huizhou, advancing the development of a clean and green energy system, and helping achieve the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals.

In this project, GEDI give full play to its professional technology and project management advantages, carry out optimization work in the whole process and at a deep level from the aspects of main plant layout and system process design. To effectively improve the space utilization and system operation efficiency, GEDI innovatively propose design schemes such as the main plant large mid-level platform with the shortest distance between steam turbine and boiler for domestic 9F gas turbines, and the first auxiliary cooling water system that allows for seamless switching between open-loop and closed-loop modes in China. At the same time, building-attached photovoltaic (BAPV) roofs are adopted in the plant area, which can provide about 3.5 million kWh of green electricity for production and life in the plant area every year, with obvious effects on energy conservation and carbon reduction.
