On June 17, construction began on the multifunctional fixed truss cage platform for the Zhuhai Jinwan Marine Ranch Demonstration Project (Phase I). GEDI serves as the EPC contractor for this project.
The project builds upon the Zhuhai Jinwan Offshore Wind Farm site and adopts the "wind power-fishery integration" model to establish the first case of "offshore wind power + marine ranch" integrated development in the Greater Bay Area. The project focuses on the development and construction of a multifunctional fixed truss cage with a water volume of 15,000 cubic meters, a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) gravity cage with a volume of 10,000 cubic meters, and a steel liftable gravity cage with a volume of 5,000 cubic meters. The total cage capacity is no less than 30,000 cubic meters. Notably, the HDPE gravity cage was put into operations in December 2024.
The multifunctional fixed truss cage platform currently under construction has an estimated weight of about 1,800 tons. An upper platform will be established to accommodate living quarters, mechanical spaces, and work-related cabins. The platform will also feature automatic feeding systems, water quality monitoring, water flow monitoring, surface monitoring, and other facilities for fisheries management, along with a comprehensive integrated management platform. This project incorporates innovative solutions, including inclined pile technology and a three-phase three-wire design, to enhance marine ranching practices. The construction adheres strictly to the classification specifications set by the China Classification Society (CCS).
