Seven Sections of Zaozhuang-Heze Highway Transportation, Energy Integration Project Connected to the Grid

Recently, Tengzhou Sections 1-3, Yutai Sections 1-3, and Chengwu Section 1 of Zaozhuang-Heze Highway Transportation and Energy Integration (Source-Grid-Load-Storage Integration) Demonstration Project, led by GEDI as the EPC contractor, were fully connected to the grid for power generation.

As the first comprehensive transportation and energy integration project in China, it utilizes highway infrastructure such as roadside slopes, ramp circles, service areas, and toll stations to implement comprehensive new energy development and construct a transportation and energy integration system that continuously provides green and clean energy to infrastructure and transport vehicles, efficiently converting green electricity into green transportation power.

The project deploys a total of 123.99MW of distributed PV systems, along with supporting energy storage facilities of approximately 15MW/30MWh. The Jinxiang and Weishan sections were connected to the grid for power generation in 2023 and 2024 respectively. The Tengzhou, Yutai and Chengwu sections, which were connected to the grid recently, have a total installed capacity of about 38.33MW. Seven sets of grid-connected distributed PV systems have been deployed, with an estimated average annual power generation capacity of about 42.79 million kWh, equivalent to saving approximately 12,871 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 20,927 tons.

Due to factors such as the development scale, load characteristics, and PV utilization rate, the Tengzhou section is also equipped with a 6.2MWh energy storage system customized by Guangdong Teway Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of GEDI. By integrating distributed PV and energy storage resources, it has enhanced the regulation capabilities of the power system, improved power grid stability and security, and established a full-chain interactive system of "source-grid-load-storage".
