On March 27, the Guangdong Zhaoqing Power Plant Phase II Gas-fired Cogeneration Project of CHN Energy, surveyed and designed by GEDI, commenced full operation.
Located in Zhaoqing High-Tech Industrial Zone, the project involves the construction of two 500 MW gas-steam combined cycle units. With an annual output of 3.8 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity and 6.3 million gigajoules of thermal energy, it will play a significant role in optimizing the regional energy structure and promoting green and low-carbon development.
During the project construction, GEDI conducted a significant amount of innovative design work, including a pioneered optimized layout scheme for a combined power house arrangement with 9F split-shaft turbines positioned on a mid-level platform and a three-stage steam extraction and heating scheme for the reheating system, enhancing overall energy utilization efficiency and heating flexibility. Tailored to the karst geological conditions, GEDI optimized the foundation treatment for the entire plant to ensure the safety while reducing investment.
The project also established a typical application scenario integrating a 10-gigabit industrial optical network and artificial intelligence, providing a replicable and promotable model for advancing smart power plant construction.
