Recently, the independent shared energy storage power station project in Xuwen County, Zhanjiang City, constructed under GEDI's "production-research-investment-construction-operation" integrated model, officially commenced. This is Guangdong Province's first new-type energy storage power station connected to a large-scale offshore wind power grid. It adopts grid-forming advanced technologies to enhance new energy utilization and flexible regulation, supporting the development of system-friendly new energy power stations and the construction of a new-type power system.
The project is jointly funded by GEDI and Xuwen County Infrastructure Construction Co., Ltd., and will build a 200MW/400MWh high-voltage cascaded all-liquid-cooled lithium iron phosphate energy storage power station. GEDI's subsidiary, Guangdong Teway Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd., will supply eight 25MW/50MWh FLESS-M flexible energy storage systems for the project.
This represents an advanced, efficient and reliable energy storage solution. The independent shared energy storage power station functions like a giant "shared power bank," providing services for multiple users. On one hand, it facilitates the utilization of wind and solar new energy and coordinates the outbound transmission needs of large-scale offshore wind power in southern Zhanjiang; on the other hand, it serves local industrial and residential electricity consumption, meeting zero-carbon green energy requirements. Additionally, it participates in grid emergency regulation and ancillary services, enhancing the safety and flexibility of operations within the new-type power system.
