Recently, the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province announced the 2025-2026 list of high-level science and technology journals. Southern Energy Construction, sponsored by GEDI, is selected for the Guangdong High-Quality Science and Technology Journal Project and awarded RMB 1 million in research funding.

GEDI has always attached great importance to develop science and technology journals. In 2014, it became the first enterprise in China's power design industry to establish an energy science and technology journal and incorporated high-quality journal into its science and technology innovation development plan. In recent years, Southern Energy Construction has focused on the construction of new energy systems and new-type power systems, with attention to fields such as energy security and low-carbon transition, energy technology and industrial development, and energy system and mechanism reform. The journal has actively contributed to the global open science movement and has been recognized as one of the first batch of Chinese applied core journals, an RCCSE Chinese core academic journal, a high-quality coal-related science and technology journal listed in the "Grading Catalog of High-Quality Science and Technology Journals" compiled by the China Association for Science and Technology, and a 2024 case of high-quality innovative development of science and technology journals by the Society of China University Journals. It is also indexed by internationally authoritative databases such as Scopus, Inspec, and DOAJ.
