On December 26, 2024, Lot II of Site A of Guangxi Fangchenggang Offshore Wind Farm Project was connected to the grid for full-capacity power generation, marking that the first offshore wind power demonstration project in Guangxi has been fully completed and put into operation.
The Fangchenggang Offshore Wind Power Demonstration Project, with a total installed capacity of 700 MW at Site A, is the first offshore wind power project in Guangxi to conduct offshore wind measurements, receive approval, commence construction, connect to the grid, and achieve full-capacity grid connection. Lot II, which has an installed capacity of 289 MW, is constructed by a consortium formed by GEDI and China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group Co., Ltd.
Once fully operational, the project is expected to generate approximately 2.06 billion kWh of clean electricity annually, sufficient to meet the electricity needs of over 700,000 households for a year. Additionally, it will contribute to the reduction of approximately 1.64 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions, showcasing significant economic, environmental, and demonstration benefits, and supporting the green, low-carbon, and sustainable development of Guangxi's economy.
