Guangxi Power Grid's First Cross-sea Interconnection Project Commences

On January 3, the main body of the 220kV Weizhou Island Cross-sea Interconnection Project surveyed and designed by GEDI started construction.

As Guangxi Power Grid's first cross-sea interconnection undertaking, the Project involves constructing a 220kV substation on Weizhou Island and establishing an interconnection line with "land cable + submarine cable + land cable", connecting to the 220kV Dunhai Substation in Beihai City. It will realize the interconnection between Weizhou Island and the large power grid system for power supply and become China's first green, low-carbon, digital, intelligent cross-sea interconnection project.
