GEDI Signed Contract for First Grid-side Electrochemistry + Flywheel Energy Storage Project in Guangdong

Recently, GEDI signed an EPC contract for Energy Storage Power Station Project in Guangzhou Sino-Singapore Knowledge City.

The project is to build a hybrid energy storage power station with electrochemical and flywheel systems, with an installed capacity of 50MW/100MWh. The project will provide flexible adjustment resources for the local urban power system, improving the power supply capacity and stability of Guangzhou power grid.

As the inaugural hybrid energy storage power station with electrochemical and flywheel systems in Guangdong, the project can enhance operational efficiency by optimizing the system capacity configuration. By leveraging the distinctive attributes of both electrochemical and flywheel energy storage technologies, the station is designed to boost the system response speed, regulation velocity and precision, and thus elevate the overall performance and regulatory proficiency of the power grid.
