Commencement of Olongapo 172 MW PV Project in the Philippines

On March 26, the first concrete was poured for the Olongapo 172 MW PV Project in the Philippines, marking the commencement of the project. GEDI leads the EPC contracting in its construction.

The Olongapo project is located in the province of Zambales, Luzon Island, about 126 kilometers away from the capital city of Manila. It is planned to build a ground-mounted PV power plant with an installed capacity of 172 MW (AC-side). The consortium led by GEDI shall be responsible for the design, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning of the plant. The project will provide an average annual power generation of 316 million kWh upon completion. It will be connected to Castillejos 500 kV substation built by the EPC Contractor of GEDI through a 230kV double-circuit transmission line, which will effectively alleviate the power shortage in Metro Manila, enhance the utilization of local renewable energy, promote energy transformation and upgrading and high-quality economic development, and help the Philippines achieve its 2030 renewable energy development target.
