Contract Signed for Southeast Asia's Largest Integrated Photovoltaic, Energy Storage Project

Recently, GEDI, in a joint venture with China Energy International Group Co., Ltd., signed an EPC contract with Manila Electric Company (Meralco) for the Terra Phase I West District Integrated Photovoltaic and Energy Storage Project, which is the largest single photovoltaic and energy storage power station in Southeast Asia.

The Terra Phase I West District project is located in Nueva Ecija Province. The scope of work includes the design, procurement, civil construction, installation, and commissioning of a 1.4GW photovoltaic power station and 35 kV collection lines, as well as the balance of plant (BOP) works for a 3.3GWh energy storage station.

The contract is effective immediately, with plans to commence construction in November 2024 and initiate power generation by 2026. The development and construction of this project will significantly increase the proportion of renewable energy in the local grid, alleviate electricity supply pressures in Luzon Island, and promote regional economic and social development.
