Recently, the 300 MW capacity expansion project of SPIC Xuwen offshore wind farm in Zhanjiang, Guangdong, which was EPC contracted by GEDI, successively reached two significant milestones: the power reception of offshore booster station and the grid connection of the first-circuit wind turbines. These achievements pave the way for the project's full-capacity power generation.
The expansion project consists of 25 sets of wind turbine generator units with a unit capacity of 12 MW, supported by one set of 220 kV offshore booster station. Upon completion, the project will provide 899 million kWh of clean electric energy per year. It is vital for transitioning the regional economic growth in the western Guangdong to a low-carbon, innovation-driven mode, facilitating the transformation and upgrading of energy structure of Guangdong Province, and supporting the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals.
